Should I See A Psychiatrist
or A Psychotherapist?

Deciding whether to see a psychiatrist or a psychotherapist depends on your specific needs, as they offer different services:

Psychiatrists are medical doctors specializing in mental health. They can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and offer psychotherapy. They are often sought when medical oversight and psychopharmacology is requested, often in difficult-to-treat conditions when psychotherapy alone is insufficient.

Psychotherapists have various levels of training, from bachelor's, master's, to doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in psychology. They specialize in psychotherapy and counseling, helping individuals manage mental health challenges through talk therapy, behavioral interventions, and psychological assessments.
